Working Bikes

Working Bikes will be at "Rolling on the River", Illinois' Ride for the Environment at the Hoover Outdoor Education Center in the Scenic Fox River Valley. This is 55 Miles West of Chicago at 11285 Fox Road, Yorkville, IL 60560.

There will be a bike drive at this event, with all donations going to The Recyclery.

Please bring your bike donations to the Lincoln Park Campus Quad on Saturday the 17th from noon till 4 PM.

If you have bikes or bike parts to give, but are unable to bring them to the event, we would be happy to pick them up at your convenience. Please contact efajscc@hotmail.com

Loyola University Chicago is pleased to announce a Book & Bike Drive to benefit Global Alliance for Africa (GAA), a non-profit organization which develops programs to economically strengthen communities throughout Africa. The drive is the outcome of a Loyola University Immersion Trip to East Africa in June 2007 where faculty and staff members had the opportunity to learn about GAA’s initiatives first hand.

WorkingBikes will be hosting a Bike Drive at the upcoming Wolff’s Flea Market (http://www.wolffs.com) & 329Cycles Bicycle Swap Meet in Rosemont, Illinois, on Sunday October 14th.

Bring along your unwanted bicycles when you come to wander around!

Northeastern Illinois University is hosting a bike drive as part of their recycling event on Saturday October 13th.

All bikes and bike parts, broken, rusted or old will be accepted and greatly appreciated. The bikes collected will be donated to Working Bikes Cooperative, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to empower global communities by promoting public health, environmentalism and human equality.

The Working Bikes Co-Op's Peruvian project sponsor COPRODELI is having a bike drive on Sunday, at the big church near the Haymarket monument: Old St. Patrick’s Church 700 West Adams Street, Chicago, IL 60661.

Drop off gently used or new bicycles for underserved communities in Peru. Bicycles can EMPOWER individuals by providing transportation to work, promote exercise and a healthy lifestyle, and can keep children off the street.

Gabe Levin is holding a bike drive at the West Suburban Temple Har Zion, 1040 N. Harlem in River Forest on Sunday September 30th.

Tim Wetzel will host a bike drive as a part of his Eagle Scout project.

Please donate your used bicycles from 1PM to 5PM at the 1st United Church at 848 Lake Street in Oak Park on Sunday, September 30th.

The bikes will transform people's lives in Angola, Tanzania, Ghana, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, Cuba or the U.S.
