Our mission ...
"Working Bikes gives new life to old bikes and independence to those who ride them, in the underserved communities of Chicago, Africa and Central & South America ... "
The Working Bikes Cooperative is a not-for-profit tax-exempt 501(c)3 organization, tax ID #54-2138339, which diverts bicycles from the waste stream in the greater Chicagoland area & surrounding states.
We repair some of these bikes for local donation & sale to help fund the overseas shipment & donation of all the remaining bicycles.

Holiday Hours
We will be closed on Saturday Dec 26th, Wednesday Dec 30th and Saturday Jan 2nd.
There probably won't be a Volunteer Mechanics Class or Bike Machine Workshop next week, either, between Christmas and the New Year?
Reminder: Year End Gifts
We encourage people who are able to donate to Working Bikes either for themselves or in someone's honor to do so during this end of the year period.
Your donations make the efforts of redistributing bikes locally and internationally possible.
Bicycle, bicycle parts, tools and supplies donations are always appreciated.
Financial donations are also very much appreciated.
Working Bikes is a 501c3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.
You may reach us at any time, via email at donations@workingbikes.org or may drop off parts and supplies Mon-Sat 9am-5pm at our Pilsen location.
Thank you and have a good holiday season, from your friends at Working Bikes.
