Village Bicycle Project Shipping Party - complete!
With the help of a lot of volunteers we were able to fill the container in about 4 hours ...
We crammed 331 adult (mainly 26" & some 24") and 144 20" childrens bikes into the container, along with 3 boxes of cranks, 1 box of brakes, 1 bucket of chains, 1 box of new MTB suspension forks, 23 extra 26" wheels and 4 bags of MTB inner-tubes.
We will have a Shipping Party for the Village Bicycle Project in Ghana this Saturday, June 13th, from 10am until 3pm (or until we finish filling the container) at 2434 S. Western Ave., Chicago.
David Peckham describes this project: "We'd love to get a container from you this year. We're starting programs in Sierra Leone, and have a volunteer on the way to teach girls how to ride. She will also lay the groundwork for programs similar to our Ghana one-day workshops, starting in December."
