Sponsored by Global Exchange and Co-op America, the Washington, D.C., Green Festival will highlight more than 350 green businesses, 125 speakers, green films, how-to workshops, music and organic cuisine.
REI are sponsoring a holiday bike drive at their new store in Lincoln Park, located at 1466 N. Halsted Street (Google map), on November 8th.

Working Bikes Cooperative 2008 Annual Meeting will be at 1401 W. Wabansia on November 13th. Doors open at 6 PM. for dinner and mingling. Wabansia is two blocks North of Stanley's.
Everyone is invited.

Please disregard a previous announcement which mentioned Western as the meeting site. Kevin Simmons offered his performance space for the our historic event.
We managed to load 514 bikes, one unicycle and many, many parts into the container that blocked one lane of Western Avenue between 10:00am and 2:30pm on a blustery Saturday, when the rain & snow (thankfully) held off. Kudos and many thanks to all who showed up and helped. See pictures HERE & HERE!
We will load a container of bikes at our New International Shipping Terminal,
at 907 S. Western Avenue, on Saturday - from 9AM to 3PM.
