AmeriCorps*VISTAs Erin Morey and Caitlin Delap are currently developing an Earn-A-Bike program through the REC, in conjuction with Racine Unified School District's Lighted Schoolhouse Afterschool Program and the Working Bikes Cooperative.

The Earn-A-Bike program will be geared to youth ages 10-14 allowing them a chance to build a bike from scratch, and receive a helmet and bike lock!

We finally got a container for the Ghana shipment and managed to cram over 500 bikes and many spare parts into it on Saturday October 4th. People worked so hard there was nothing left to do on Sunday! Pictures HERE

This was the last shipping party to be held at Wabansia as we are now moving out of that location.

Working Bikes will have a table at the Grand Opening of the REI's new store in Lincoln Park, located at 1466 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60622.

They will be collecting bikes for us in the near future. ..

A bike drive is being held in conjunction with the Logan Square Farmers Market, at the SE corner of Logan Boulevard and Milwaukee Avenue.

Drop off a bike and then check out the Sunday Parkways route going south from Logan Square along Kedzie, through Humbolt Park and down to Garfield Park!

The second annual Renewable Energy Fair will be held at Waubonsee Community College’s Sugar Grove campus in Erickson Hall on Saturday, October 18 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is free.
