Erin's Mt. Kilimanjaro Climb

As a lifelong desire, and in memory of her parents, Erin Lamparter will be climbing Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro on March 8th.

Erin Lamparter is a Detroit-area native, but has lived in Chicago since 2001 and now considers it her home. She served as a business development volunteer in the Peace Corps in Ghana in 2005. Through this times, she found that Ghanaians are the most welcoming, kind, wonderful, happy people that she has ever encountered. Her adoration for the outdoors started in high school in Killarney Provincial Park in Canada, and since then she has continued camping and hiking in Yellowstone, the Smoky Mountains, the Porcupine Mountains, the Canadian Rockies, and the White Mountains, among others. She is passionate about animal welfare and environmental protection, and is into photography, live music, film, swimming, a vegan lifestyle, and kicking it with stray cats.

Working Bikes Cooperative Bringing Pedal Power to the World

An article, by Ian Woofenden, about Working Bikes in the December 2010 & January 2011 issue of homepower magazine ...

The article implies that Working Bikes refurbishes the bikes sent overseas when, typically, they are shipped "as-is". We do, however, refurbish bikes for both sale & donation locally.
