"Make A Difference Day, a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors, will once again take placefrom 9 a.m. to noon Sat., Oct. 25 from 9 am -12 pm at the Indian Hill Train Station in Winnetka. What started as a community event just five years ago has quickly become an annual tradition for hundreds of families, individuals and groups in our township. The Volunteer Center of New Trier Township will again coordinate this inspiring event and volunteers and representatives from ten social service agencies will be on hand to collect specific items.

Choose to make a difference as an individual, family, group or neighborhood. It is so easy to do! Simply choose to donate to any of the following categories: canned goods, powdered baby formula, newborn diapers, children's warm outerwear (in good condition), used bikes, eyeglasses, prom dresses and accessories, and sports equipment, including soccer uniforms. This is a great opportunity to clear out all of those unused items on your home or to add some extras to your grocery cart next time you are shopping. Every little bit helps.

Recipient agencies include: New Trier Food Pantry, Greater Chicago Food Depository, McGaw YMCA, The Glass Slipper Project, Working Bikes Co-op, Hadley School for the Blind, Evanston School Children's Clothing Association, INFANT Inc., Infant Welfare Society of Evanston, and Opportunity Unlimited.

Stop by the Indian Hill Train Station parking lot (northeast corner of Winnetka Avenue and Green Bay Road) on Saturday, October 25th from 9 am-12 noon. Rain or shine.
