The bikes we have donated help those kids who have no bikes have a day to enjoy a bike ride without worrying about all other negative aspects that impact the community. Therefore, annually, they get to participate in a ten mile bike-a-thon.
This year's bike-a-thon takes place on Saturday August 2nd, with the ride starting at 8:30am and ending between 12:30pm & 1:00pm.
If anybody would like participate as a volunteer, and be assigned 2 to 4 kids to ride along with as a guide, it would be greatly appreciated.
There is a squad car to help us out with safety and traffic issues. There are route maps and rest stops with water en route.
After the bike-a-thon, volunteers are all welcome to join the block party with games, food, and a fresh garden produce sale - grown in the garden nearby!
