The Francis W. Parker School is hosting a bike drive during it's Green Festival (at 330 W. Webster Avenue, Chicago) on May 10th, from 9am until noon.

At Warrenville City Hall, 28W701 Stafford Place, adjacent to the Prairie Path.
This is a part of the City of Warrenville's annual bike rodeo event.

STOP-PRESS: it looks like we still haven't managed to procure a container, so the shipping-party will have to be postponed?

We (Lee) have finally scheduled a shipping party to load bikes into a container bound for Angola on Saturday, May 10th.

Due to the weak dollar and increased fuel costs shipping to Angola is much more expensive than before, so the need to pack 500 adult bikes into the container to increase the value of it's contents is even greater!

They are located at 1740 High Street, Orangeville, IL 61060. Orangeville is between Dubuque & Beloit, about 40 miles NW of Rockford.

From Highway 26, turn east on Orangeville Road towards Orangeville. Turn left on Ewing Street and right on High Street. Trailside Bike Rental is at the end of the street.

Lakeshore Drive is open to cyclists from 5:30am with cars returning at around 10:30am. The post-ride festival is from 8am until noon at Butler Field in Grant Park.

They will then be taken to 1401 W. Waubansia at 2 PM where we will start loading the actual container. We will load until people decide they have done enough for one day.
We will return to Waubansia on Sunday at 10 AM and continue loading the container until we've had enough for one day.
